guitarpath wrote:Very nice. How would you compare the PWGC OM to the Martin and Atkin in terms of tone and volume?
After a very limited sample size:
PWGC is loudest
Martin is darkest and most even across tonal spectrum
Atkin is brightest with the most overtones.
I’ll be doing a comparison video soon

crap. I specd evo for my order. I wonder if they have enough inventory for what had already been ordered?I just had 2 of my PWs re-fretted with EVOs within the last 2 months or so. They had enough EVO fretwire for the first, but I had to provide my own for the second. Matt said they had plenty in stock to cover existing orders (just not re-frets), so I’m sure you’re good.
What does PWGC charge to do a refret and where did you get the EVO fretwire? Thanks!
The shop that did my EVO refret about 2.5 years said they had plenty in stock. Considering repair shops tend to purchase fretwire in bulk, I imagine that's the case at many places.

Let's get these back home to the States where they belong.

Hey now, Fahey! I say let's get some more of these great instruments around the world for folks to appreciate and enjoy! The only PW I've ever seen here in London was in the hands of Molly Tuttle when she performed locally with Tommy Emmanuel a few months back. It was my first time seeing her live, and my first opportunity to hear a Pre-War guitar in person. Needless to say, both left a pretty good first impression!

I reached out to the dealer just to see the options and to get the price in dollars. It doesn’t sound like it would want to work. I’m sure it’s not designed to. Here is his answer:
Thanks for reaching out. We do not accept payments in dollars. And the exchange rate depends on what payment method you use. Banks and creditcards are usually pretty fair. Avoid Paypal when it comes to exchange rates.
Also when you import this guitar into the US there will be import duties and sales tax to be paid.

Jimi, import duties depend on the country of manufacture of the goods.... you may pay sales tax even on used goods, but likely not duty.

Haha, yes, of course, it's best to spread the Pre-War love to Europe too.

There shouldn't be import duties to the US given that it was originally made in the US.
